Workshop on the Implementation of ERERA’s Dispute Resolution Procedures
18-20 November 2024, Lomé, Togo
ERERA has developed and approved Rules on Dispute Resolution Procedures as part of its mandate to develop the ECOWAS Regional Electricity Market (REM). To facilitate the smooth operationalisation of Phase 2 of the REM, ERERA organized a Workshop on the Implementation of Dispute Resolution Procedures from November 18th to 20th, 2024. The event aims to engage stakeholders across the ECOWAS region to discuss the procedures and implementation framework.
The workshop’s main objective is to ensure stakeholders understand and are aligned with the changes made during the approval process by the Regulatory Council. It will also provide a platform to discuss how these procedures will be implemented in practice. The active participation and support of stakeholders are essential to the success of the Dispute Resolution Procedures.
In addition, the workshop equips stakeholders with the necessary knowledge and tools to adopt the procedures effectively. It also helped ensure their commitment to implementing the approved procedures and regional licensing directives. The event promotes a unified approach to dispute resolution, fostering fairness and consistency across the region.
Finally, the workshop focused on introducing the operational aspects of the Dispute Resolution Procedures and providing an opportunity for stakeholders to give feedback on potential challenges and solutions.
