WAPP Secretary General’s Courtesy visit to ERERA

The Secretary General of the West African Power Pool (WAPP), Ing. Abdoulaye DIA, as part of his assumption of office, paid a courtesy visit to the ECOWAS Regional Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERERA) on Monday, January 20, 2025. During a working meeting held on this occasion, attended by experts from both institutions, the Chairman of ERERA and the Secretary General of WAPP discussed areas of cooperation to accelerate the operationalization of the regional electricity market and strengthen the development of electricity trade in West Africa.

The meeting also focused on strengthening collaboration between the two institutions to achieve regional energy integration objectives and improve access to electricity in the region. Finally, both parties expressed their commitment to work together for a more efficient and sustainable energy market in West Africa.
